Our Story
A warm Tuscan welcome on Via dei Macci, in the heart of Florence's Sant'Ambrogio quarter.
In the Heart of Florence
Osteria Cancello dei Macci sits on Via dei Macci, in the lively Sant'Ambrogio quarter — a few steps from the neighbourhood market that fills our kitchen each morning. The room is a Tuscan home brought to life: stone walls, vaulted arches, soft lamplight and tables dressed in white.
Run with heart by Ardit and Chris, the osteria has one simple philosophy — treat good produce with respect and welcome every guest like family. We keep to the classics: pasta rolled by hand, the Fiorentina grilled over embers, and a cellar that celebrates our region.

What We Believe
Provenance
We shop the Sant'Ambrogio market and work with local producers, so our menu follows the Tuscan seasons.
By Hand
Pasta rolled fresh, meats grilled over wood embers — we keep the time-honoured methods that make the difference.
Hospitality
An unhurried table and a genuine welcome: you're a guest in our home, looked after from the first glass to the last.
Run with Heart by Ardit & Chris
There's no celebrity chef here — just Ardit and Chris and a team our regulars know by name, among them Lori, Gianluca and Marco. What you'll find is honest Tuscan cooking, a thoughtfully chosen cellar, and the kind of welcome that makes you want to stay for one more glass.
